smoothwall problem
hi all
I wonder if someone could help, i know a little about the in's and out's of Linux, so i decide to install Red Hat 7.2 on one of my numerous spare computers (i know) and make into a server now i have a USB speedtouch and had problems installing it on Red Hat 7.2 as numerous have before me, then I found out that SmoothWall was easier to install the USB speedtouch, so I installed SmoothWall 0.9.9 and eventually (i had left my brain somewhere else when i was installing this) got the USB speedtouch to work and got it to connect to BT openworld, wahey i said to myself and left it there all alone collecting dust, i would normally would leave it alone since i got it working, but i was getting really frustrated as all the normal commands and interfaces had disappeared. Where is Red Hat , man (command) , the floopy, the cdrom i cant do anything in SmoothWall or can i. Do I need a new brain, because i cant fathom it out, is it possible to run Red Hat and SmoothWall at the same time? How can IP masquerade using smoothwall?
Please Help me

Hi,
Smoothwall is a firewall only Linux distro, it is not meant to be a normal linux setup, that is why you can't do anything with it. For Smoothwall (I'd ditch it and use IpCOP personally ) you should use a donor machine and just leave it when it''s running.
If you want a more general server machine try a distro like RH, Slack or Debian and get some guides/HOWTO's on IP Masquareading/NAT/Firewalling.
