Smoothwall HTTP and CGI update problem

Morniing all,

Pardon me if this is obvious but ....

I seem to be experiencing a rather odd state of affairs with Smoothwall 0.99SE. I have installed it on my box and works like a charm. Placed the first update on it (ie. 7) and it uploaded perfectly. However, the webpages rather bizarrely fail to perform any actions other than view hence I can no longer dial up or place any updates etc.. I rolled back an reinstalled the original again only to find the same problem when I put the update on. Unfortunately I have found very little on the web to try and solve this. The log files have given the biggest clue in that each web page I click on get listed in the log as for example:

"smoothwall Referal https://merlin:445/cgi-bin/help.cgi?logs is not a Smoothwall page"

Any ideas, comments, solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The Phantom

Which client browsers have you tried when accessing your SmoothWall admin pages?

You'll find that smoothie wants to be addressed only by ip number now.
It's in the documentation as an extra security feature.

Regards,
Peter.
