smbmount for remote pc?

hi people,

is it possible to use smbmount with a remote PC to share the shared files that my friend has?
with remote i don't mean a PC on my router network but on the internet.
my friend has a win2003 server and is sharing a file and created an account so i don't have to use the guest account (so it can stay disabled)
lets say my friends IP is 88.88.88.88.88 and his shared folder name is Music.

Q1: can i mount that folder with something like this?

smbmount \\\\88.88.88.88.88\\Music /mnt/remote -o username=blabla
#password: ********

Q2: is there a better way of doing this?

**EDIT**
i don't know if it will matter, but my friend also sits behind a router
**End EDIT**

thanks in advance

I don't believe that will work, as samba usually operates within a domain.
ftp would be perfect for wat you want to do though
