smblient localhost error

Here is the story:

[global]
workgroup = home
encrypt passwords = yes
hosts allow = 192.168.1. 127.
guest ok = yes

[temp]
path = /temp
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
guest ok = yes

>smbclient -L localhost
added interface ip=192.168.1.102 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Error connecting to 127.0.0.1:139 (connection refused)

Running Mandrake 8.0, samba seems to be running in xinetd, i have added all users to samba, I can ping all windows clients, not using DHCP, i have restarted samba several times and rebooted.
All hosts are in the hosts file.

Why am I getting this error? I am so frustrated. Please help me.

The two other computers on my network are WinME and W2K.
