smbclient to different domain?

I am trying to mount a network resource from my dorm room. Say my domain is school.edu. The computer I want to get to is in the domain "acs.school.edu", but I can't seem to connect to it with 'smbclient -L //computername' (it tells me the connection failed). Is there a way I can do this?

Did you try using the IP instead of a name?

Cheers,
