Smb error messsage

Hey all again

I setup a directory on c:\smb and shared it to everyone

I type this in

# smbclient //192.168.1.4/ -D smb -u Administrator -W JOHN

and i get this message

session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

Ether i have something wrong on the windows computer or linux setup but this looks like windows error message so guess it is connecting.

If you shared the smb folder as smb then you would need to connect with

# smbclient //192.168.1.4/smb -U Administrator -W JOHN

see man smbclient for details..

It sure does, but inside the share.. When you open a folder for sharing it gets given a share name for browsing.. You have to use that name to access it via smb or cifs
