smb.conf to share with Mac OS X?

I've created an smb.conf file to share files from my Linux computer to my iMac running OS 10.3, and I can get the share to mount, but I can't get it to view files. The same Linux box mounts the share just fine.

I've added the iMac user:

adduser -name-

I've added it to samba:

smbpasswd -a -name-

Here are the relevant parts of my smb.conf:

  server string = Linux Server

   comment = Home Directory
   path = /home/dean
   browseable = yes
   writable = yes
   printable = no
   create mask = 0775
   directory mask = 0775

What am I doing wrong?

Not sure what is going on there, but have you looked in the SAMBA logs?
Also, are you aware that Mac OS X has NFS support built in, and therefore no need to use SAMBA?

What is the username on the iMac?

Did this issue ever get resolved? I am having the exact same problem. I am able to mount the share but I can't get it to view files.
