One thing that comes to mind is the MTU or Max Transmit Unit Size.

Have you tried playing around with different numbers?

to change it use ifconfig

also check for errors using ifconfig

HI
Thanks for the reply. I checked with the ifconfig. Both MTU and MaxTrS are set to their default size (1500). And ifconfig is not reporting any problem. Perhaps, I wonder: I setup the static DNS addresses whereas my ISP recommends dynamic DNS setup. And I also tried with asyncmap 0 (and 0xa0000) as well. No improvement at all.!

Any help please?

HI
I resolved the problem. The problem, I couldn;t even ping my localhost.

I said, ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1

And then things started to be normal. Can anybody explain, what was happening inside?. And now, everytime, I start my linux box, I should type this command . Is there anyway to automate this? (ie to make this ifconfig lo up)?

Thanks in advance
