Hi, Im running Red Hat Linux 7.0
The problem is that it takes ages for the FTP server to log me in. Ive tried pinging the machine and its fast. Once Im eventally allowed in on the ftp server the transfer speeds are fast.
Is there any soloution to this wait.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

What FTP server are you using? It may be trying to reverse resolve your IP.

Some programs will try and make sure that DNS matches both forward and reverse. In other words they will make sure that 127.0.0.1 resolves to localhost and that localhost resolves back to 127.0.0.1 (This is just an example).
