Do you want to do networking b/w these two slack boxes(crossover cable connection) or do you want these two boxes to serve file sharing for your whole LAN ?

I want to share files on these two computers, but over the "switch" with two cables(from computer to switch and from switch to other computer) . And share, copy, view files on other computer. The Linux on both of the computers view the network hardware on
1.Realteck 10/100Mbit card,
2.SIS 900 integrated on board on laptop ASUS A9T.

Branko;
You should rather at first set ip's at both of your boxes with "netconfig", make sure you set both of those ip's belonging to a same subnet & then you can share your shares at both of your boxes with samba or you could even setup aynonymous ftp or ssh with secured key could be a possibility.

You should now google for respective terminologies i have used in above para for in depth setup details.
