Slackware 14.1 NM wont detect my Wireless card - Thus WICD does

Hi, Im having a bit of a problem. I made a clean install of Slackware 14.1 on my laptop (ASUS N53SV)

Ive been slack user since 13.37.

Everything runing smooth and clean, but when Im tryng to configure a wireless conection with NetworkManager, NM has the wireless option disabled. Looks like it does not seem to recognize I have a wirless network card. Tho, I install WICD, and instantly recognizes it and shows me all available spots in range.

Anyone has any idea what am I missing??

This happened to me on an Acer Travelmate with an older Broadcom chipset, Kwireless, and wicd.

I never bothered to figure out why. I thought that kwireless was a kludge and prefer wicd anyway.

Are wireless connections enabled in NetworkManager? Right click on the nm-applet icon to check.
