Slackware 14.1 and Netgear Adapter

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums. I've been using Linux for about a year now, and I LOVE it. I recently have been trying to get away from Ubuntu, and a friend of mine suggested Slackware. Now I know Slackware is a little more in depth with regards to packages and things, but I decided to give it a try!
I successfully installed it, and started up XFCE. Everything runs perfectly smooth...EXCEPT..I have no internet connection. (I am currently running puppy linux off my USB to post this)

Now the PCI card I have is
Code:
01:06.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
Subsystem: Netgear WG311T 108 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter (rev.A3)
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 168, IRQ 19
	Memory at deef0000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2
	Kernel driver in use: ath5k
	Kernel modules: ath5k
Supposedly this is meant to work out of the box with Slackware, but I have had no luck. I am a little lost on what to do and was wondering if anyone knows!!

Thanks,
Scratty

just like puppy did you configure it with networkmanager, wicd,or the rc.inet1.conf.

three ways to use that device. and just like puppy the internet wizard creates a profile file for you. if you used to gui then please
read the beginners guide

Note that if you installed it and selected networkmanager then use the applet on the pannel. If you configured it and you did a default. it is using the /etc/rc.inte1.conf to use the network mqanager gui. please read the guide.
