site forbidden on a 2nd partition

I have a problem with my apache server. My hard drive has three patritions: one for Win XP (ntfs), one both for windows and linux (FAT32) and a RiserFS part for Gentoo linux. What i want is to get my site on the FAT32 partition so that both apache in windows and linux has the same htdocs. When i try to put the site to the mounted FAT32 partition in Linux than the browser tells me that it is "forbidden". In windows i have the same error. What can i do to lose this error and make it work ?

I believe you get this error because a fat filesystem doesn't understand the concept of file permissions. Try and mount the partition with the uid that runs the webserver and make this user own the files (umask=0007) or if there's other stuff on the drive that users other than the webserver user need to access (or even write) to than you will have to make this partition world readable (writeable) - which, of course, is a _very_ bad thing to do on a webserver.
