god i dont even know how to format the question. I have installed debian on my laptop and it took foever. Somewhere in there it asked me to choose a network card driver and i guess i screwed it up. Now if i type ifconfig eth0 does not show up. So then i type "cat /etc/network/interfaces" and "auto eth0" does not show up. Finally I type "modprobe rtl8139" and it tells me device or resource busy.
The driver i need is rtl8139. Can you tell me how i know if it is missing and if so what i need to do to put it where it goes?
Here is the tutorial i am following
