simple samba question
I am writing my smbd.conf file from scratch, getting it working piece by piece (not enough RAM in the system to run X, so i don't have swat)
I have "security=user" in the smbd.conf file.
I am trying to connect from a laptop running XP Pro.
Questions:
1. That means that I should be able to open the system remotely using the same user/password combos as I use to log onto the machine directly???
2. When I try to connect through XP Pro, I enter the account name and password, and it fails to connect. But the window pops back up with the laptop name as part of the username. (ie. I enter "matt" for the username, and after failing the window comes back with "WEASEL\matt".). Is this significant?
