Simple Files Sharing Setup


Could Someone please help me just to set up file sharing between linux and Win2k

I install mandrake 8.0 usin kde but the mandrake site says to use a prog called drakconf but i can find that thing anywhere

i'm also getin errors when trying to install any rpm the installer says "unfortunately some packages were not installed due to some errors"

thanks for any help u can give me

If ur tryin' to do file sharin' u need to install samba...check out this site
www.linuxdoc.org
this gives u step by step from config'in ur kernel to printer setup

i can't install a damn thing it give me errors
i already found that out but if i can't install it???????????????

whoa....slow ur role! take a deep breath, this is just the beginin' of a long road to freedom. It would help if u gave more info like what distro of linux, what kind of computer r u usin', seein' a trend ....the more info the better....what type of error when u do an install.

look up man (mandrake 8.0 usin kde)
if u need the hardware tell me but i'm connected to the internet just fine so the the hardware should be just fine

my bad dogg..I didn't pay attention, Anyway...where did u get ur Mandrake 8.0 ? Reason being....If it came out of a magazine..those distro have a habit of actin' funny after install. R u getting ur rpm's from this disk or the net? Drakconf is found in ur kde menu...I can't specify right now cuz I am @ work..... lucky me or open ur terminal under root and type drakconf.

use rpm from the command line if you did not already and use -vv for incredibly verbose output and use the --test switch

This should give the info you need to help solve the problem.
