sharing Windows printer with linux
Hello everone -- Finally SAMBA working and with LinNeighbourhood (do a google on where to get it) on SUSE 9 I can browse files etc both ways (From Linux I can access and mount Windows shares and with network Neigbourhood / Windows can mount Samba shares).
One final problem -- How do I share a printer that's sitting on a Windows box with my Linux computers -- I can't switch this printer over to Linux (it would be easy that way round !!!). Thanks everyone for help to other questions I've posted on these boards -- I'm up and running 99.999% now -- "just the stinking printer" !!. |
In windows right click on the printer and select sharing, give it a share name. That's the first step, I'm uncertain of the rest. I'm sure you will have to install cups and setup the drivers in linux though.

Run CUPS and set it up as a smb printer
