sharing disk partitions between 2 computers

I have 2 linux computers and I want to share the disk partitions between them. i.e. I want to read and write files on the computer one's disk partition from computer two and vice versa.
Both computers are on the same subnet (both are connected to an ethernet boardband router) so they can ping each other.
Do I use the "mount nfs" command to achieve my goal or is there a better way?

you need to add the directories that you want to share in the /etc/exports file, followed by the machines allowed to access the share with options for example

# /etc/exports file
/home/user 192.168.0.0(rw,sync)

You should be able to restart the network services, but it maybe easier to restart the box.

check the directories your exporting with exportfs
