Sharing cups printer with netatalk - black pages being printed

I have SUSE 9.1 running on my Linux box (server) and have one Mac and one Windows PC on the network. I have Samba set up and working fine for the PC, but I'm now trying to configure the Mac. I've successfully configured Netatalk for file sharing which is working well (so far). However, I have yet to be able to print from the Mac. I have an Epson Stylus 740 attached to the Linux box and have installed two "printers". One raw, and the other with "drivers". After much trial and error, I can get the Mac to print to the printer, but I only get black pages (wasting a LOT of ink).

I believe my problem lies with the fact that the Epson 740 is not a postscript printer, though it's printing fine from within Linux. I think I need to use Ghostscript, but I don't know how to configure it.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Black Pages from Epson on CUPS

I also get black pages.
Mandrake 9.2
From CUPS Administration:
EPSON Stylus Photo 1290, CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.5

Like you I'm using Samba. The printer is hosted on a Win98 machine.

I used CUPS Admin to delete the printer and then installed it again, with success.

Steve

My setup is slightly different. My Epson printer is attached to the parallel port on the linux box. I have removed and reinstalled the printer a few times, with no affect.

Any other ideas?
