Sharing a printer for 30+ computers with Samba

I work in an environment where I'm sharing a printer (Dell computer with XP Pro) with almost 30 people. I'm running into the problem that is inherent with XP - it will only allow 10 concurrent users to print at one time. With 30 people trying to use the same printer, I am quickly running into a problem where no one can print. The printer I'm sharing is an HP LaserJet 4300. I would just go buy a cheap print server, but that's where another problem comes into play. We are a medical billing company, and our billing software needs a printer to be hooked up to an lpt1 port on a computer. Stupid, I know, but it's what we have to work with.
What I want to know is this: Is it possible for a printer shared through SAMBA to masquerade as a plain text vanilla printer? If so, how do I do it. All I have to work with is an ancient Pentium 200 with 32 mb of ram. Which distro would be recommended? I currently have SuSE 9.1, Slackware 9.1, and Ubuntu running on my three workstations/servers. I'd like to install Debian to do this. Configuring SAMBA shouldn't be too much of a problem, I'm just failrly new at this whole sharing a printer thing.
thanks in advance for all your help.

I shouldn't be too hard to get that setup with samba on most any distro. But if you think you have printing problems now, wait until those 30 users try to print to a box with 32 megs of ram!
