Setup a small machine as a OpenVPN router
Simply put i want to setup a small machine running linux that i can use to link to openvpn remote and route my traffic through.
I have a home network that ends in a pfsense router. rather than having to mess with turning on and off settings in that. my idea is to setup a small linux machine with two interfaces, the WAN side will be connected to a VPN when needed and traffic passes through it. Anyone think of a package or distro that may be used to do this or suggest a site link? Any help would be good. |
I have no relevant experience at all, but this article might be a good start: https://community.openvpn.net/openvp...gingAndRouting

Hello and welcome to LQ.
It should work as long as you have a supported system. Might be a bit slow if old. Although this is for a different firewall it should apply to your question. https://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/OpenVPN Guess you could do it in your firewall or almost any of the major disto's. Pick a distro and the steps would be slightly different for each. |
