Setting up Samba and connecting to Win98 SE thru serial cable

Yes, I am back again. I now have Slackware 8.0 with the 2.4 kernel. Is there anyway to connect a Win98SE box and a Linux box thru a serial cable (no smart-a$$ remarks, you know who you are). I tried using Direct Cable Connection in Windows and tried everything from directly running pppd to a KDE dialer, and the connection was established, but it was dropped shortly afterwards. Any help?
BTW: Yes, I know it's slow. It's only until I get a real network, in which I'll probably come back and ask how to set it up over an ethernet card.

Hi..

Its is possible. U can enable PPP over serial. connect the PCs.

In PPP howto u can see the option to configure PPP over leased line. Using that try to estabilish the connectivity. and access the shares

First, thanks for the help. But now, I'm trying a parallel cable. Don't bother with help for that. Though get prepared by December, maybe later, because I'm finally getting a normal LAN. Ethernet cards and all.
