hi
i'm trying to connect to a network at a friends hostel. here, all the residents are given a username/passwd with a proxy server. i can easily connect to the internet from konqueror by setting up proxy in proxy settings of konqueror.
how can i setup the proxy settings globally (on my comp) so that all the users (of my comp) can connect to the network without having to setup this in other accounts? how can i get my terminal applications to be able to access the internet as well, presently only the browsers can connect?
i'm using mandrake linux 10.0.

u cannot do that
this has to be done at the application level
u will have to configure proxy for all applications if they support that
