Setting up ICS on a Linux Box (Slackware 10)
After looking through Search multiple times I still havent found a newbish way of setting up ICS on a Linux box. Sorry for the new thread >.<
Me and a friend plan on running a Linux box as a game server, but what we want to do (so we dont have to deal with port forwarding issues) is run it as the linux box as the main computer i guess i could say. It would take in the DHCP address from the modem then share it with the rest of the network. Internet > (IP From ISP) - Linux Box - (192.168.0.1) > Router OR His Other Comp (192.168.0.2) Now i can easly do this with windows but when it comes to linux i got a blank face. I really do NOT want to use Windows as the server because it takes up more resources and this server isnt the best so it needs all the spare ram i can get out of it. Its running Slackware 10 with 2 nics that work. Thanks for everyone's time and replys! |
you cant have looked very hard, theres loads of threads on this sort of thing.
there's also a decent 'howto' in tutorials. |
