Setting Up Dlink Usb Cable Modem
 
I have a dlink usb modem and i cant find this version on the mandrake 9.2 cable modem selection list, is there a different one i can use thats usb, or will i have to buy a ethernet card for my computer, but if i install the ethernet card i can use the cable modem for the ethernet connection, what cable modem should i select? PLEASE HELP!!! :Pengy:

There's probably a good chance its not supported. If you supply the model number, we might be of more help.

Also the output of dmesg would be helpful while you have the modem plugged into the usb port.

And yes, an ethernet card will make setting your connection up most likely by 1000 times.. ;)

The model is DLINK DCM-200, im going to buy a ethernet card for my desktop pc today, but how do i connect it to the internet?? do i use the cable modem? i dont have a ethernet plug in the wall, what do i do?? if my modem isnt listed on Mandrake Linux 9.2 network cable modem list?? or can i use a differnet modem listed on there?? please help..
