Setting up an LDAP Server

I am new to linux environment

I need to setup a LDAP Server in linux and authenticate Apache Server which to authenticate Through LDAP

I have went o the Red hat Documents for LDAP but i did not get clear idea

Here are my questions any anyone try to help me

I have installed Red hat Linux 9.0

Does LDAP comes along with Red hat Linux 9.0?

I have downloaded from openldap site

I need how to configure the LDAP Server

Do I need a DNS Server running in the same linux machine

for installing LDAP

or can my DNS server be in my windows environment

How to make my authenticate using LDAP

That when I create a webpage running in Apache Server That should authenticate through LDAP

So I need a claer step of LDAP Setting and environment and also about the DNS server whetaher it should be in the smae where LDAP is running

Please guide me in the above request

Once you ahve your ldap server set up you can configure apache using:

I don't see how DNS will affect anything.
