setting up a network to work with windows

im trying to set a linux box up so i can use it as a firewall and have all my windows computers connect to the internet through it. im sure its possible somehow... i just am not sure how. my linux box is running fedora core 2 and i have a windoze box running XP pro and one running 98se. i dont really care if they can share stuff between them, i just need them to be able to access the internet through the linux box. also, i only have a dial up connection that i am wanting to "share" between them. thank you for any help on this, im getting so frustrated i have spent so many hours trying to get this to work.

p.s. i read somewhere that maybe all i needed to do was set my linux box to be the gateway and specify the linux box ip to be the gateway for windows, if that is all i need to do, could someone tell me how? i have looked for a few hours and cant find anything about how to set linux up to be a gateway.
