setting up a monitoring box

What good monitoring software is out there that I can use to monitor bandwidth usage on different subnets, (8 links), traffic, and also to monitor hardware(Servers, links, switches)

I have tried to use nagios, but had a little trouble installing. Still looking into it. Would like to have i use a web interface, and to be able to shoot off an email when an event happens.

Thanks

I use nagios but there is also opennms. ntop and mrtg are probably the best for bandwidth monitoring as opposed to server and service monitoring though.
