setting IP address and subnet and ...?

Hello

I've just installed Linux Slackware and as well as you know most of the slackware setting is by commands and isn't with any GUI program.

and now I have installed and configured most of the setting and one of them which has remained is setting IP Address and subnet and gateway and .... for my ethernet card.

please help me that how I can set IP address and ... on my Slackware 10.1 linux with commands or anything else because I use this system on a network and I really need to set these settings.

I'm waiting for your help friends
have a nice time

let's say your interface is eth0 (ifconfig shows your configured interfaces), you want ip adress 192.168.0.100 and netmask 255.255.255.0 :

#ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0

For setting up Default Gateway you may apply ::

route add default gw < ip address of your Default_Gateway >
