Session request.... (Called name not present)

Very strange...

[root@linux22 samba]# smbclient -L manitoba
session request to MANITOBA failed (Called name not present)
session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Called name not present)

When I do an nmblookup I get:

[root@linux22 samba]# nmblookup -A
Looking up status of

MAC Address = 00-0B-CD-1D-D2-F4

Which is correct.

The machine name is in the /etc/hosts file. I've restarted smb services, and the router (it's a small satellite office on a VPN). No luck!

Workstation is Windows XP Pro named MANITOBA and workgroup CENTURY. This was a new workstation which replaced a W2K station that died.

We have hundreds of clients running SAMBA and networked shares across VPN's and I've neve seen anything like this.
