Lightbulb Session Per Ip Limitation

Dear friends,
I have a very busy webserver hosting a downloading web site offering many large files to download. Please let me know what is your suggestin for limiting the number of concurrent sessions per IP address.I mean that I like to restrict using programs like DAP to impose a large amount of traffic to my server.
Thank you,

Take a look at bw_mod:
http://ivn.cl/apache/

The readme has all of the usage information.

Remember that if you use the useragent to match some clients it can easily be overridden.

Hi friends,
I checked out the following recommended link :
http://ivn.cl/apache/
But as you may see this module of apache is only able to :
*Restrict the number of simultaneous connections per vhost/dir
* Limit the bandwidth for files on vhost/dir
And what I am looking for is one kind of session restriction based on IP address. For instance I want to limit each user to use maximum 2 concurrent connection to each web site defined as vhosts.
