Hi everyone,
I have been searching and testing for solutions all day, and here is what I know.
- As of past couple of days, my server has "on/off" connection issues every couple of minutes
- During the "off" time, I cannot access my website or connect to server via VNC
- VNC claims "Connection refused", my website shows an Apache error (I run nginx) and shows a Forbidden message when I access my site.
My server cannot browse the web during this time from inside either (timeout error), however I can ping google.com from the inside and ping my server from the outside without any issues. I sent many (hundreds) large packets (1350 bytes) from & to my server when this network issue came up and I had no packet loss.
I've done countless Traceroutes (during both On & Off phases) from multiple PC's with different ISP's, and there were no issues. RTT's were low for the majority of time.
I called my ISP and they did router and cabling checks, and said all is ok from their end. My ISP has also claimed that they have not made any changes to their systems in the last 3 months.
I have disabled firewall on the server. My CPU and memory usage is OK. My DNS is set to what my ISP gave me, and I've been running this config without an issue for about a year.
What other tests should I perform?
Thanks!
