sendmail smtp problem

when i configured a linux machine with ip adress 192.168.0.208 as a sendmail server, in client i got the following error...

The connection to the server has failed. Account: '192.168.0.208', Server: '192.168.0.208', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

telnet 192.168.0.208 25 is giving the message " could not open a connection to 192.168.0.208"

what will be the error ???? how to configure smtp in a system ??? what r the configuration files for smtp ????

check the SMTP daemon options in your /etc/mail/sendmail.cf.

you should have something like

O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=192.168.x.x, Name=MTA
