It should look like this:

trantv:x:xxxxx:xxxxx:My Name:/home/trantv:/bin/bash

It looks exactly like that, but what do I need to edit to get "trantv" to apprer on the FROM: line of an email

right now you send e-mails as root. You must either change the user used to send the mail (to trantv) or else modify root's fith field to "trantv"
