Sendmail and POP3 questions

Hello,

I am trying to setup an smtp and pop server. The server that I am using has a dynamic ipaddress that is bound to two domain names by a dynamic dns service. I want to be able to send and accept mail from both of these domain names. There are several things that I am a little confused about. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

What I have done: I have made several changes to the sendmail.mc file and then compiled the file into a sendmail.cf file. Sendmail accepts connections through telnet. I have setup masqurading for one of the domain names that is directed to that server but the server still says localhost.localdomain.

I have setup devcot to be the pop3 server. I can connect to devcot through telnet 110 on the local machine and external machines.

Ipchains allow all traffic through port 25 and 110.

I am trying to test the mail client by using outlook on a remote machine. When I configure the account all of the mail tests pass but when I try to send or receive mail from the server it fails.

I am trying to use a smart_host (smtpauth.earthlink.net) to relay messages to the outside world. I believe that I need to authenticate to relay off of this server. Is there anyway to do that in sendmail? Can I handle both of my domain names using masqurading in sendmail? Is the sendmail/devcot combo going to work with outlook (winxp)? I seem to be a little stuck on where to go next for troubleshooting these issues. Any suggestions would be great.

If you guys can't tell from this I mainly been a windows person so some wording in this post might not be linux freindly. Please let me know if there is extra information that I could post that would help you give me some direction.

Thanks for your time,

Bryan Luisana
