Sendmail and MySQL

I was curious, is there a way to, instead of using the system for mail management, to have it all contained within MySQL? I'm sure this will pose problems with IMAP/POP3, but just maybe someone's already though of this.

Thanks,

This sure is possible. If you want just aliases, etc in a MySQL database this is pretty easy to setup with postfix. I am not sure about sendmail though ...
