Sendmail
Hello,
All While trying to send mail through my red hat (Sendmail) mail server to internet, I get the error message that the "connection refused" .....Why I m gettiing this error message....please let me know. Any suggestion to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated |
hmm, well I am a Postfix user myself (you should seriously consider it) but I believe that in sendmail there is a line in sendmails config file that refuses all connections except from localhost (127.0.0.1). Also you didn't say if your client is telling you the remote smtp server refused the connection or if this is some kind of log entry. Check /var/log/maillog as well.

you supplied too few info
but you may want to check if the mta you're trying to reach has any mechanism of authentication enabled...if it does have, you have to configure sendmail to authenticate itself using the mechanism demanded by the mta. |
