Sendmail 30sec delay between ident and delivery...
A few weeks ago a delay appeared on my email server. Sendmail mail now has a delay of 30 sec between the request to get new mail and moment when mails actually start arriving...
#1 So i searched this forum and found the fallowing solution, set the Timeout.ident to 0... I did that but the delay is still there... #2 Went back on the forum and found another solution - reverse DNS... I didn't had reverse DNS setup on my machine, so i set it up... but still no change with the delay, still there... Now i can't seem to find anything else regarding this problem so i'll ask... TIA |
Found the answer to my own question... if anybody is interested.
After reading pages after pages about the reverse DNS thing and the timeout.ident ... i finally found something else on the subjet. i commented two line in "etc/xinetd.d/ipop3"... # log_on_success += USERID # log_on_failure += USERID This was sending a request to my IDENTD which isn't responding of something, so it was timing out after 30 sec.... |
