sending mail

How can I send mail to an user using the console??

It needs any server to works?

It is possible to me send an email using the console and the email looks like me@myip or me@dns or I need have to buy some ip?

Please... help me to understand...

I am sure you can send mail through the console using the "mail" command or tools such as PINE and MUTT. Read the man pages of these apps and see if they are what youare looking for.

I have ready and I still can make it work

eg.:

$mail root
subject: teste

teste

(ctr-D)
cc:

----

then

#mail
you have no mail.

but...

$mail
U 1 user@localhost.localdomain teste

-------
I tryed some other things but I still cant send mail to someother user... can you help-me?
