Sendemail configuration.

Hi there:

I just want to send email weekly at a particular time(not trash) to myself appending with my test results. But I have no idea how to configure the system and how to write the script.

I tried the most simple command:

mail -s "hello" arthurhuang@gmail.com <result.txt

But it doesn't work at all!

Oh, almost forget, I don't have root permission. I think I still can setup account, right?

Thanks in advance!

No, if you want to set up sendmail, you'll need root privs. Also, you say "it doesn't work at all!"...how about actually providing an error message, or some symptoms of what it does? And what version/distro of Linux are you using?

I am using centos5. When I type the command, there is no error message, I just didn't receive any email.

If I don't have root privilege, are there any software or tools can let me send email?

thanks a lot.
