Send local ip address to a network host

Hi,

I have 2 machines where both are connected to the internet. I want machine A, when it's booted, to send its ip address to machine B.

The thing is that, when I boot machine A, I get a new ip address every time it's rebooted and I just want to know what it is without login into it.

Thanks
Indy

There are many exotic ways that this could be done.
This sounds like a competition for the most exotic way.

The most standard would be to use dynamic DNS.
..
or
..
If you put a DNS server onto machine B, you could make machine A register with it.
..
or
..
you could write a small bash script to email the ifconfig details to you.
..
or
..
you could make telnet try to open some obscure port on machine B, and in iptables on B, log packets to that port.

There are many ways of acheiving this. If you just want to know it, how do you wish to receive it? email? just typeing //machinea into windows?

the bash script sounds fairly easy and exotic way of doing it. I'll research more on it. thanks.
