seeing linux from xp

seam to be having a problem adding my linux box to my home network. I am running Redhat 7.1 on one system than two others have windows xp pro. on them. All computers can browse the Internet just not each other. Right now I need to be able to see the linux box from the windows system so I can move some files over before I redo the system. I am assuming what ever I do in linux for this I need to be in "root" .

Thanks for any help. I'm sure there will be more questions though am hopping I will be able to figure most out on my own.

Jim

1. Install samba if it isn't installed
2. If installed, start the samba service   smbd
3. Edit your smb.conf file, scroll to the bottom and add or remove shares. {swat is an option, but I don't like it.}

4. Post questions once you've gotten past any of the following steps.

5. Always have FUN.
