Saving eth0 config

Hi all,

I've recently installed Mandrake 9 on a laptop. Since installation, I've added a pcmcia ethernet card (3com Megahertz 10/100).

I've tried binding an IP address to the card:
ifconfig eth0 netmask
...which works fine until the machine is rebooted, and the configuration is lost.

Any ideas on how to save the config?

Is the card listed in the Control Center -> Networking and Internet -> Connection?

If so set it to static with the desired values there and save it.

Found the problem - it's to do with the way my tosh recognises the card; it's cardbus, and the bios needs to be told this explicitly. When it was set to 'autodetect' in the bios setup, Linux recognised it as a new card (with no IP address) each time. Thanks for the responses anyway folks.
