Hi, to understand this thread, first read here:

I know at this point, from seeing all the references to the old subnet, it's a wonder anything still works as applied to networking! So therefore, I'm probably just going to have to recreate the whole server. The problem now, is saving the DNS configuration. There are several CNAMES in the DNS configuration that are still valuable to me. I want to save them in the most human readable format possible, so that I can use them to recreate the DNS server when I get back to that point. Please help me figure out how to do this. I thought it was simple, but it didn't work as planned.
I pulled up the configuration in webmin using firefox from the localhost. I accessed it by IP address. I went to print and found that the printer isn't hooked up to it. So I saw an option to print to a file, which supposedly saves in .PDF. That was correct, but it only saves the first part, not the whole thing. I was able to transfer that file to a Windows client by using the NAS by IP. Unfortunately, it was still only the first page after a fresh print to file. So I went, "Okay, I'll install the printer". That's when I remembered that the reason it probably is not installing is because there are references to the old IP addresses there too! So at minimum, I'd have to redo those IPs, to install the printer software, which may or may not work and may take a few hours. Then I'd be able to try to print the flawed DNS server information, which is still valuable. Then I'd be able to redo the DNS server which would take a few days. If I save it and redo the server, it will be a few days tops. I just don't know how to save it so far. I "might" have an image that I could use to restore to the point when the server was initially finished, and then I could try again to fix the DNS server. I just remembered that, if that helps any. But appearently, I'm going to have to fix all flawed IP references to make it work, and besides those two places I don't know if there are any more or not. This could be why it doesn't work. It will take a day to image if I have such a backup, plus some instruction on the fastest way to fix all the IP references. Then however much time that takes. But maybe that's actually the fastest way?
