Samba WINS server

Me and my stupid subnets..... AGAIN....

ok, so apparently i can use samba to connect two subnets and view all shares.

so.. how can i do this? i can't find a total list of what i need to do...

my smb.conf says...

[global]
security = user
preserve case = yes
null passwords = yes
encrypt passwords = no
workgroup = swingyourpants
server string = simon
socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY
#SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
mangle case = yes
create mask = 0777
default case = lower
hosts allow = 10.0.0.2 10.0.1.2 10.0.0.1 10.0.1.1
directory mask = 0777

wins support = yes
wins proxy = yes
domain master = yes
preferred master = yes

And then there's nmy shares defs....

everything''s workgni great besides teh WINS stuff. I've tried using LinNeighbourhood to try and query the remote machine, but it always comes back with an error.

I have pretty much the same thing except I'm using SHARE level security. Are your win boxes setup for USER level security?

Are they getting the list of users from the linux box?

The wins support is what should do the cross subnetting.

Can you ping across?

Does smbclient -L host work?

I have my win machines getting wins info from dhcpd, only sending a few other things over.

this is what it caughs up.
