Question SAMBA username choice question(s)

This is your basic "duuuh" set up question for Samba...

I'm trying (and aaaaaaaaaalmooooost there) to set up a Linux box talking to a Win2k box via samba and your basic 10baseT ethernet. Simple.

1. Set up strategy question
The same human beings (me and my girlfriend) will be using both machines.

Should I have a different account name for each combination of person and machine, i.e.
ChrisWin
LisaWin
ChrisLin
LisaLin

OR

Should I just have two accounts named and passworded the same on each mahine, i.e.
Chris (an account name that lives both on win2k box and linux box)
Lisa (an account name that lives both on win2k box and linux box)

Am I thinking about this completely backwards?

2. Should user names lose the capital letters on the win2k box? I know Linux is a bit more finicky about capitals.

Many thanks in advance.

usernames

well i am fairly new at this also but I do know for a fact that the user name you use for your windows machine and the users you set up for samba AND the passwords should be the same. As far as the regular linux box itself, I believe that can be different but I havent tested that yet.

One more piece of beta to that one. A samba user name also has to be a legit login name on the linux box.

Althouth there is no needto have the logins the same it will probably be easier to manage - there is no need to have 2 seperate login names.
