samba stuff : how i can find it?

hallo

I am a newbie.

I got suse 9.1, home edition. and try to get it in a network.

the only problem is to see it as the local network and browse it.
( i think is the only problem I can see)

up to this time I mount every share to the linux box.

but I cant show back my disk from the linux box back to the windows

i got samba rpms, but I dont know where they went (python , winbind, samba-client etc)

To be a network client is easier, just install and config samba-client package. To share dirs you must be a server: install and config samba server.
Open yast2 and go to network > samba section.

SuSE has a small Samba configuration tool. In YaST, go to Network Services -> Samba Server.
If you want to configure it manually, you need to edit /etc/samba/smb.conf
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=221549

You can use YaST in order to manage any service (including Samba).
Load YaST, go to "System" and click on "Runlevel Editor".
By using the expert mode, you can start, stop, restart, enable and/or disable any service.

To use Samba, you need to enable and start smb and nmb.
