SAMBA Simple Share

I know this horse has been beat to death and I have searched the forums and the net and have found no answer. I would like samba to run in a peer to peer security level if that makes sense. No authentication, no username, just anyone connected to my network can access it. I can't seem to get it to work. Can anyone tell me a simple way to do this? I'm running openSUSE 10.2, and all of the firewall ports neccesary for SAMBA are open.

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Easiest way is to use Yast choose network services or similar name, choose samba/windows networking (I do not run Suse any more so do not remember the exact names but they are obvious ones). Then choose the share directory and set the options. All the ones you want are in the Yast menus.

########## OTHERWISE ##########
## Share name assumed to be "Public"
## Edit your /etc/samba/samba.conf file and add the following:

[public]
guest allowed = yes
read only = yes

### if you are only going to add content to the directory public
## from the server, this will do.
