My samba has been activated. But for some reason when I try to access it from my windows machine it displayes a permission error. Can somebody help me with this. Another problem is that when I go to the network folder on linux and I click on the Localhost the linux machine, it sais that it cannot access it and that it might have been deleted recently. But there is no problem when I access windows from the linux machine. Help!
I created the account but it still does not work, when I type
smbclient -L 192.168.0.6 it displayes the shares, but after that it sais sesion request to 192.168.0.6 failed(Called name not present)
I don't think it is the config file, I think it is the netbios name. I have not configured one. Where do I do that, because I can't see space for it in the smb.conf file
Ok, i have configured the netbios name and now it works, but I now have to linux pc's showing up in the network, the one is Linux (localhost),which i cant access and the other is Linux(Linux) which i can access and appeared afteer i entered the netbios name
Are you sure it wil go away, aint ther a line that i can delete somwhere, because it is in the linux pc aswell, when I go to the network on linux then i see window ,linux and localhost and as you know localhost does not work
