This config still will not let me write. I get an error every time.

Cannot copy: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that is not currently in use.

Windows attributes always show Read Only. Don't know why.

Well... found the problem. Seems red hat has made a few changes since RH9. FC4 has a stupid ass thing running called SELinux that starts up even if you disable the firewall. It was blocking incoming Samba traffic.
